Kostas Tzoumas was the co-founder and CEO of Data Artisans, a data startup based in Berlin founded in 2014 and acquired by Alibaba Group in 2019. Data Artisans commercialized the open-source Apache Flink software, originally developed at a research project in TU Berlin, before becoming one of the leading platforms for real-time data stream processing platforms. Prior to co-founding Data Artisans, Kostas Tzoumas graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NTUA in 2007, followed by the completion of his PhD in Computer Science at Aalborg Universitet in Denmark.
