Executives relocating to Greece

Tax Benefit

50% of annual Greek-sourced salary or business income to be exempt from income tax in Greece
Duration for seven (7) consecutive years
Exemption from Greek deemed income rules on the use of residences or privately used vehicles

Requirements

Tax residence outside Greece for at least 5 out of the 6 last years
Tax residence in an EU/EEA country or a country with which Greece holds an administrative cooperation agreement
Employment with a Greek company OR freelancing activity OR managerial positions (i.e., director) in Greek legal entities
Stay in Greece for at least 2 years

Visa Options

EU Blue Card

The main immigration option for highly skilled individuals that will be recruited as employees in Greece is the EU Blue Card residence permit that requires proof of higher professional qualifications or relevant professional experience and a minimum annual salary.

ICT Residence Permit

Highly skilled employees may also consider the Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT) Residence Permit, which requires a temporary assignment of a third-country national from an employer abroad to a Greek entity of the same group of companies.

Tech Visa & Talent Visa

The new immigration options of the Tech Visa and the Talent Visa that have been announced by the Government are expected to provide additional options to interested parties when they become available (expected in the next few months).
